We have cherry-picked interesting and lesser-known English vocabulary, e.g.: espionage, decree, scapegoat, catharsis, pep talk, herd immunity, remedy, impair, conundrum, hindrance, retrenchment… Visit the Learn section in our app to discover them by yourself.

We keep refining these recommendations based on your continuous feedback. When you like a word and add it to your learning collection, we give that word some priority so that users discover can discover the trending vocabulary.

Memorise vocabulary with Challenges

We offer multiple mini-games like quizzes and spelling challenges for you to exercise your knowledge.

Every word that you add to one of your learning collections becomes a challenge. We periodically verify if you are still familiar with it or not. If you submit the correct answer, we will challenge you less often, minutes → hours → days → weeks → months. If, however, you answer incorrectly, we will start the cycle all over again to give you more opportunity to memorise it. That is a proven successful learning technique called spaced repetition.

Dark theme

reduces eye fatigue, saves battery

Enjoy our application in either the light or dark theme. The dark theme requires Well Spoken Club membership which is free for the first month. You can select the preferred theme in the settings or leave it on automatic, in which case app will follow the appearance schedule of your system.

If you are a night owl, we highly recommend the dark theme to reduce your eye fatigue and improve your sleep cycle. AMOLED screens use up less battery when the dark theme is active.
